For $5, the store will hold all of your records for the entire weekend!
Fragrance designer André Barnwell will host a hands-on, interactive scent lab throughout the festivities from 12 pm - 7 pm, referencing the ancient perfume trade that catalyzed cross-cultural movement throughout history of human civilization.
Pasadena’s place for “free range learning” setups up a magical musical space for the little ones, with a cozy space for new parents to bring their tiniest tots, an interactive drum circle, and a new experience for this year’s festival.
SoCal’s oldest independent bookstore stocks the “shelves” of little libraries that will populate the festival site providing a respite from the action – giving festival goers a chance to sit back, relax, and enjoy a book on subjects ranging from Music and Science to Pasadena’s history and architecture.
LABORATORY OF EMBODIED INTELLIGENCE WITH FULCRUM ARTS
The Laboratory for Embodied Intelligences, led by artists Nina Waisman and Flora Wiegmann, will present a series of roaming dance-based performances throughout the weekend. These performances demonstrate parallels between human and microbial movement and behavior; one result of an extensive process of research, interviews with scientists at NASA, USC, Stanford, Harvard, NYU, and Waisman's yearlong artist residency at SETI Institute.
An all-ages experience featuring artful visions of destinations in our solar system and beyond, grounded in real NASA exploration missions. Spark your curiosity – stop by to chat with scientists and space exploration experts, and snap a selfie at one of several imaginative backdrops.
This passageway into Arroyo Seco Weekend comes with the perfect pedigree. Phoenix Decorating is one of the official float builders for the Tournament of Roses. This entryway takes inspiration from the Spanish Colonial Revival architecture of Pasadena City Hall re-imagined in the style of a parade float.
